What type of people turn red when drinking alcohol?The full name of alcohol flush is ALDH Deficiency. People with alcohol flush have inherited a genetic defect that causes a missing enzyme in the digestive system. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down acetaldehyde, which is the real cause of flushing and other side effects after drinking. This means that if you have alcohol flush, at least 1 of your parents has it too!

Are there any long-term risks associated with turning red?The Kurihama University Medical Research Center in Japan has published a number of studies directly linking alcohol flush to an increased risk of alcohol-related cancers. They specifically found that people with alcohol flush who continue to drink alcohol, have a 4x higher chance of developing stomach and esophageal cancer. Since our products attack the root cause of this risk directly, we hope to help reduce this risk as well.

Is there any way to cure alcohol flush?Alcohol flush is caused by a genetic defect in your DNA. There is currently no cure that would be able to permanently change your DNA. Our products use the best ingredients available to reduce the symptoms.

Are alcohol tolerance and turning red related?Surprisingly, NO! Alcohol is not actually what causes alcohol flush. There are many people with a high tolerance that turn red after only 1 or 2 drinks. There are also many people that get drunk after 1 or 2 drinks but do not turn red.

When should I drink Akan?Akan should be used whenever you are planning to drink alcohol. Parties, business dinners, or even just enjoying a drink at home. The amino acids take a bit to kick in, so drink Akan ~30 min before alcohol.

How should I store Akan?Akan tastes better cold, so we recommend keeping in the fridge. However, there is no problem with storing boxes at room temperature.

What are cystine and cysteine?These are amino acids which are naturally present in the bodies of every human. You also intake these amino acids when eating meats and fish. Our products use high quantities of these amino acids to directly target the root cause of alcohol flush and boost your digestion.

What is Japanese Raisin Extract?Japanese Raisin is a small fruit found in many East Asian countries. The dried extract contains a compound called dihydromyricetin that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. In our products this compound directly attacks the root cause of alcohol flush.

Can I drink Akan while taking medications?Akan is sold as a nutritional supplement, but does contain high levels of vitamins and amino acids which will temporarily speed up your metabolism. If you are concerned that this may affect your current medication, please consult a pharmacist.
